Tiger Crane Combination

Graceful as a crane, powerful as a tiger: learn to defend yourself with this versatile Kung Fu style.

Whatever you are facing, learn to stand with the strength of the Tiger, and win with the refinement of the White Crane.

In our Kung Fu clubs in London, we teach the traditional Chinese martial art of Tiger Crane Combination (in Chinese, Hu He Shuang Xing Quan).

According to oral tradition, the Tiger Crane Combination style was born from the union of a Tiger Kung Fu Master, Hung Ee Kan, and a White Crane Kung Fu Master, Tee Eng Choon. Training together, the married couple combined the best elements of the Tiger and White Crane Kung Fu styles into one fighting system.

The principles are predominantly those of the White Crane system, famous for its footwork and pressure point striking, but the movements have a more Tiger-based emphasis. While maintaining the grace of the Crane, the style has the power of the Tiger.

About the classes

As a Southern Style of Kung Fu, the Tiger Crane Combination style uses technique and versatility to overcome opponents who may have an advantage due to their size and strength, making the style an ideal form of self-defence for both men and women.

In our Kung Fu classes, you will initially learn basic strikes, blocks, kicks, and stepping techniques. Classes also always include exercises to build your strength and fitness. Basic partner work exercises will help you learn and develop self-defence, showing you practical applications for each movement.

Classes are informative, fun, and inclusive, while delivering a great workout and quality tuition. New students are always welcome, so come to one of our clubs and give Tiger Crane Combination a try!

Kung Fu students listen to their instructors at the end of class.
