Authentic approach to Chinese martial arts, quality tuition, inclusive community.
At Tiger Crane Kung Fu, we teach traditional Chinese martial arts, passing on centuries-old Chinese training methods and techniques that remain highly relevant today. Learning control of body, mind, and spirit is a significant part of mastering these self-defence skills.
Founded by husband-and-wife team Dave Courtney Jones and Kerry Schulz, the club is one of the longest-established martial arts clubs in London, teaching Kung Fu in the capital for over 25 years.
Our goal is to teach Kung Fu to adults, teenagers, and children in a safe, professional environment. Our classes help people discover the discipline and skills to pursue mastery in any area of their lives, as well as acquire competent self-defence skills.
The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step – only by taking it can you discover who you might become.
Get fit and see your strength, flexibility, posture, and balance improve – no matter your age.
Learn clever techniques with practical applications and acquire the confidence to defend yourself.
See how training can help you stay grounded, build resilience, and cope with stress.
Train in a welcoming and supportive environment, make new friends, and find a sense of belonging.
Embrace our growth mindset: gain the skills and confidence to become the best version of yourself.
Learn from knowledgeable and experienced instructors in a safe, professional environment.
In 2023, three of our instructors participated in the 9th IWUF World Kung Fu Championships in China as members of Team GB. Head Instructor Dave Courtney Jones was part of the coaching team, and two of his students, instructors Maki Nakasone and Daniel Shaw-Abulafia, competed in the tournament representing Great Britain as members of the BCCMA National Traditional Wushu Team.
The level of ability of the competing athletes was outstanding, which makes Maki’s and Daniel’s success even more noteworthy. Winning five medals between them, they represented our style and our country admirably, and we couldn’t be prouder of their commitment and dedication.
